Perfection

So....I have had this blog for a while, in fact this is my second blog with nothing on it so far. And you know what; there really isn't a good reason for it to be blank. The problem so far has been me and my fear of not blogging the perfect post. I was always wondering what people would think about my post, will people steal my photos, that my blog will never be read, or that I need to do some creative type of posting that I really like on other sites. But you know what, it doesn't matter. These are not good reasons not to post, they are excuses. But after reading my cousin's blog (Persistent Green) I feel that what I should really be concerned about is that I am expressing myself in an honest and uplifting way. So what this blog is going to be is a way for me to share things that bring me joy. So there may not be anything but a picture for the day, but I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

As a getting started present from me to you, I am including in this post a high-res photo for you to use as a desktop background if you so chose.  Just follow the instructions below to set the photo as your background.  Kudos to whoever figures out where the photo was taken.  Here is a hint, ferrygirl can’t guess.

Instructions:

·         Click on photo below.  It will open in a new window.

·         Right-click on the photo.

·         Select from menu “Set as Background”.

·         Done. Now enjoy!

  3. Jon, this makes me so happy! What an honor to help encourage you to dive in here. Trust me, I know all about wanting to create the perfect post.

You know the interesting thing, though? In the past few months I've been a lot less worried about perfection and trying instead to share what's real--just like you said, in an honest and uplifting way. It's felt like much less of a burden to write and instead a very joyful thing, as I learn to take time to treasure the important things in life. The less "perfect" I strive to be in my posting, the more comments I've gotten that people are encouraged. Interesting how that works!

I'm excited to read more here and share what brings YOU joy! Love that idea!

(sorry this comment took me so long to post--Blogger wasn't let me leave a comment for some reason)
